Love at all times, Sister Marguerite RUTAN

Marguerite Rutan grew up in a hardworking and religious family, together with fourteen brothers and sisters. Very soon she appeared to be an intelligent and talented little girl, asking questions and keen to learn.
Quite naturally, she felt that she would like to take care of the poor and the sick and she expressed the wish to join the Daughters of Charity. Later, when she was known as Sister Marguerite Rutan, she ran with great effectiveness the hospitals she was responsible for.
Early in the French revolutionary years, she was appointed at the head of St.Eutrope hospital in Dax. She put all her experience and passion into her new tasks, she reorganised the hospital and introduced new services paying a particularly close attention to treatments and care of the sick and to their environment, she was very keen on children's education and young girls' instruction, she  supervised logistics and services and she shared her nun companions' chores and hardhips.
However, political events  of the year1789,  hopes for a new society of justice and  freedom, emancipated from all  bounds, and notably from religion, led eventually  to the outburst of the Reign of Terror, and the town of Dax did not escape the storm. When all the priests and nuns of France had to take the oath of loyalty to the civil constitution of the clergy, she refused to do so . Then she was the object of slander and libel, she was envied and hated, finally she was accused of betrayal to the nation and sentenced to death.

The final DVD will include:

  1. The film, " Love at all times, Marguerite Rutan," (her life, her death, her message)
